People inherently value reliability. Every day we place enormous value on things such as reliable internet connectivity, mobile phone service, planes taking off on time, our cars getting us from A to B and our family, friends and colleagues doing what they say they will do. When these things are reliable, they not only afford us greater efficiency and peace of mind but also help us forge stronger relationships and deliver greater results. Shareholders, leaders, consumers, neighbors and friends all look for reliable people. Why? Because we place great importance on people and businesses who are able to deliver consistently good results time after time and who can be depended upon to deliver on commitments and promises. Fundamentally they make life (and what we do) easier, more enjoyable, and more rewarding. As leaders, recognizing this importance and value is critical to our success. A team or business that delivers reliable results is really only a collective of reliable individuals. So with this in mind, business reliability starts with us as leaders and in our ability to incite it in the people we work with. Understanding how our people perceive and regard our reliability can greatly impact our careers, opportunities, and abilities to successfully deliver. People are more likely to trust us to get things done with freedom and autonomy on how we deliver; new and fresh opportunities are more likely to emerge; and the quality and depth of relationships and subsequent loyalty built tends to be greater. Given that a core element of reliability is doing what we say we will do, communication is key. A big reason so many businesses and organizations are perceived as unreliable is a mixture of over ambition, under commitment, and a lack of real clarity about what they are communicating. Being responsible means understanding the power of these actions, and doing our absolute best to make sure they bring about the greatest possible outcome. At Mazza Recycling, that is our team’s responsibility; to each other, to our customers, to our family and friends, and to our community. We must conduct ourselves knowing we have a responsibility to our society and our environment, and this must always be in the forefront of our minds, guiding each of our decisions. The work we do matters. The path we’ve all chosen by joining the recycling industry has a direct impact on our environment, and we each hold a key to truly creating a greener tomorrow. If we want to have a sustainable future for the next generation and beyond, we must run our plants and facilities in a safe and proactive way; we must stay ahead of the curve and be at the forefront of new technology. In addition to our responsibilities as recycling professionals, our innate responsibilities as human beings and how we handle them is what ultimately builds trust – of each other, of our customers, and of every person we meet. When we make a commitment, we must abide by that; that is the key to our success both individually and as a team. Without accountability and integrity, we have nothing. We must ensure environmental protection, maintain the wellbeing of our employees and customers, and lead life with honesty and integrity. Recycling and our services here at Mazza are essential to long-term, global sustainability. What we do here is truly working for a greener tomorrow, because we help keep our planet and children healthy for as long as humanly possible. We value educating our local community and their children on sustainability, by utilizing our environmental education programs and being 100% transparent about our services. Being an industry leader comes with great responsibility, and at Mazza Recycling we value that responsibility so much that we share our knowledge of the industry with anyone who questions our commitment to our planet and questions our sustainable practices. As a result, we must practice what we preach, and begin to live more sustainability lifestyles and understand recycling practices as an employee of this company.

We come to work every day, spending most of the day with the same coworkers, while working to accomplish the day’s tasks. Ensuring that each of us go home every day to our loved ones unscathed is the goal. But how? By believing that all occupational injuries and illnesses can be prevented, and it is a management and employee joint responsibility to ensure that they are prevented. It is the goal to eliminate any foreseeable hazards that may result in personal injury/illness; property damage/loss; and business interruption caused by accidents, fires, or other hazards. Safety activities are planned and organized involving everyone. Our employees have a mindset of safety first on the job, but also off the job. Safety doesn’t stop at our front door and only stay at Mazza Recycling. It is the way of life that employees all strive for. It’s important that we take time to think about a task by considering the hazards before starting it. It’s also important that we utilize our leaders to recognize the employees that need more education and safety training. We provide a combination of hands-on and classroom education in a multitude of languages, allowing each employee to have a complete understanding of how to perform tasks. We shall always communicate hazards to each other to ensure that our friends and coworkers recognize a hazard they may have not seen. Considering our environmental impacts while being good neighbors to our local communities is always a high consideration for our organization. Keeping our minds focused on the task ensures that we all go home safe at the end of the day.
